Research:

I study lipid metabolism. Recent work indicates research on the turnover of phosopholipids of lung surfactant and factors involved in biosynthesis and the fate of the carbon skeleton of phosopholipids, mevalonate and steroids in different species of animals (crustaceae, mammals, etc.).

In addition we have examined the effects of ozone and hyperbaric conditions on lipid structure stability, tracing the pentration of labeled medications through the skin, gums, etc., and determining the intermediary metabolism of these drugs as well as the effects of lipids on their ability to be absorbed by the transdermal route. The carbon degradation of the skeleton of lipid structures and the significance of correct labeling of materials (alpha, omega, etc.) have helped interpret the significance of observed rate of biosynthesis and degradation of all lipids.
